Arsenal have confirmed the signing of Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund for a club-record fee, believed to be around £60m.

The Gabon international has scored 21 goals so far in all competitions this season, and will be expected to shoulder the burden immediately for his new club as they have just lost Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United.

The Gunners got Henrikh Mkhitaryan in exchange for Sanchez and it will be intriguing to see how Arsene Wenger fits the players into his line-up along with Alexandre Lacazette.

Transfer deadline day has also seen Mesut Ozil agree a new contract until 2021 – the German’s current deal was expiring in the summer and he had been expected to depart as a free agent.

Meanwhile, Olivier Giroud is transferring to Chelsea so that Michy Batshuayi can head to Borussia Dortmund to replace Aubameyang, completing a merry-go-round.
