Australian cricketer David Warner has said that England’s Ben Stokes has let his side down as he misses the Ashes series following his arrest in September.
The 26-year-old is staying in the UK whilst his teammates go Down Under for the Ashes pending the conclusion of police investigations.
"It's disappointing for the England team and the country," said Warner.
"He’s let a lot of people down. It’s obviously up to the English police first to think that that’s right, with punishment or no punishment. At the end of the day he knows he’s made a mistake and it’s about him getting that respect back from his players and fellow countrymen.
"I would have loved for him to be out here because I know what a competitor he is. He's a world class player."
Stokes is widely seen as one of his country’s biggest talents and it will be intriguing to see how England perform without him. They have won four of the last five test series, and a big range of odds for the 2017 Ashes are available with Tipbet.
