The action-packed start to the 2018 Formula One season in Australia a fortnight ago suggested that this could be a fight to the final race, with a genuine title battle between Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel seemingly on the cards.
The German outperformed Hamilton to secure first place and the first 25 points on offer to go top of the leader board. With the English world champion in second and Kimi Raikkonen making up the podium places, it will be fascinating to see how the teams and cars react to net next circuit of the calendar in Bahrain.
Due to this being so early in the season, there is still an element of the unknown; not least in how far Ferrari can challenge the recent dominance of Mercedes.
Tipbet have head-to-head markets for each race, where drivers are pitted against direct rivals and team-mates. Hamilton is still the man to beat and when pitted against Vettel he is 1.40 to finish ahead; given recent form, including in pre-season, that would almost certainly mean claiming first place, though much can change with reliability and crashes.
Max Verstappen is tipped by many pundits to be a future world champion, and the 20-year-old finished sixth Down Under, though the Dutchman will be targeting a 12th career podium at the Bahrain International Circuit.
Given Red Bull’s struggle for pace, however, Verstappen’s 3.75 to outperform Hamilton does seem a long shot. More realistically, he may be scrapping with Raikkonen and is 1.75 to the Finn’s 1.95. There are plenty of other Formula 1 markets at both ends of the grid with Tipbet – these can be viewed here.
