A third straight Premier League win for Manchester City last night means that they have now emerged as Chelsea’s primary challenger for the title.

Raheem Sterling opened the scoring around the half-hour mark as City controlled proceedings at the Vitality Stadium.

Despite the hosts pushing for an equalizer – Josh King had a goal ruled out for a foul – Sergio Aguero’s strike was deflected in by the hapless Tyrone Mings to condemn the Cherries to a third consecutive defeat which continues their winless run in 2017.

For City, the gap to leaders Chelsea now stands at eight points with 13 matches remaining and they will feel confident of securing a place in the top four if the trophy itself is out of reach.
