Bristol City recorded one of their best-ever results last night as they defeated the Carabao Cup holders Manchester United with an injury-time winner to advance to the last-four.
The wild atmosphere at the Ashton Gate Stadium meant that this had the feeling of a Cup upset from the outset, and the Robins responded with a fantastic performance.
Indeed, the hosts took the lead on 51 minutes through Joe Bryan. The left-back struck a fabulous goal into the top corner, leaving Sergio Romero with no chance.
United continued to control possession and equalized through Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s low and powerful free-kick just seven minutes later – this was the Swede’s first goal of the season after his injury.
The visitors continued to push for a winner, and went close through substitute Romelu Lukaku.
Then, in the 93rd minute, Korey Smith cleverly turned and finished to send Bristol through to the semi-finals, where they will face Manchester City over two-legs.
