After a long season, in which Brose Bamberg struggled to keep up with the consistency of Ratiopharm Ulm, the champions are now a step closer to winning yet another easyCredit Basketball Bundesliga – sponsored by Tipbet – crown. In a best of five matches, a win on Sunday would give them an unassailable lead over Baskets Oldenburg and secure their seventh trophy in eight seasons.

Given their experience in big games, it was no shock to see Brose come into their best form during the end-of-season play-offs. Despite finishing second in the regular season, they were rated as favourites by Tipbet in the odds throughout and have been dominant in the knockout rounds – beating Telekom Baskets Bonn 3-1 and then Bayern Munich 3-0.

Oldenburg have had a different route to the final. They finished fifth but beat Medi Bayreuth in the quarter-finals, despite getting eight points fewer. In the semis they saw off Ulm in five matches, though Brose – with 96-60 and 88-76 wins – have been too good in the final. With just three defeats all season, Bamberg also had the league’s second highest points difference at 468, just behind Bayern Munich (544) to show that they are equally adept in attack as defence.

Indeed, within Tipbet’s 35 markets for this third meeting, Bamberg are 1.03 to claim the title at home on Sunday. Their opponents are a long 9.25 to take the tie to a fourth game, though given that the favourites are 1.45 to win even with a -12.5-point handicap, it shows how tough a task this would be.

All markets, including on the highest scoring quarter, are available here; Tipbet also offer a range pf odds on other major basketball competitions – including the NBA, which currently has the play-off between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors.
