Bayern Munich have just two high-profile fixtures to iron out any rustiness before their season begins in earnest. First up they face an ambitious Inter side that will be eager to make a statement of intent ahead of a season that sees them focus on domestic issues only – the Milan club finished seventh in 2016/17 and this may serve them well, with even their city rivals AC reaching the Europa League.

If Inter are looking for one-upmanship over Milan, they will do well to improve on the Rossoneri’s 4-0 mauling on Munich in their meeting last weekend. That was Bayern’s second 2017 International Champions Cup match and they had previously lost to Arsenal on penalties. Since the heavy defeat, though, they have beaten Chelsea 3-2 to point towards an upturn in form, though they are still conceding a worrying amount of goals. With that in mind, Tipbet offer odds on neither side keeping a clean sheet 1.45, which is more likely than not (2.40).

While Inter undoubtedly underperformed last season, they have the personnel to offer a challenge to the top four in Italy under the tutelage of the experienced Luciano Spalletti. It should also be noted that, as of the upcoming season, the top four Italian clubs now qualify for the group stages of the Champions League, without the need to advance via a play-off; it is not beyond the realms of possibility that Milan has two clubs back in the competition this time next year.
