This is the 18th season of the 2017/18 EuroLeague – Europe’s biggest club competition for basketball – and this week sees the second-half of the regular season get well underway in gameday 17. There are 30 matches in total for each of the 16 teams; playing each other home and away, with the top eight finishers advancing to the play-offs.
The last games take place on 6th April, so the closeness of the standings mean that there are likely to be some exciting encounters in the coming weeks and months. Currently CSKA Moscow top the standings with 12 wins from 16 and a superior point difference. The Russians travel to Pallacanestro Olimpia Milan in Italy on Thursday night, and they will be expecting to get back to winning ways having been beaten by Barcelona 85-72 last week.
The EuroLeague leaders are offered at 1.25 in Tipbet’s basketball odds to get their 13th win of the season. There are many other markets to choose from, including game handicaps and odd/even bets, while Milan, who are currently 15th, are 4.00 to record what would be a crucial victory.
Barcelona, meanwhile, face an uphill battle when they go to Greece to play Panathinaikos, who are third. The home team are currently third with 11 wins, and are available at 1.45 to keep the pressure on Olympiakos Piraeus, their neighbours, who are in second. The Spanish club have won their past two continental matches and have risen to 12th, just two wins off the final play-off berth – they are 2.75 to make it three on a row.
The closest match in Tipbet’s odds involves Spanish side Saski Baskonia, and Olympiakos, with a winner particularly hard to call. Baskonia are just outside the play-offs in ninth and are marginal 1.80 favourites to end their run of two consecutive defeats in the EuroLeague, though they did recently beat Valencia in the Liga ACB.
Piraeus, meanwhile, are at 2.05 with Tipbet, and there are many other selections that can be made here.
