With two major sporting events taking place across Saturday and Sunday, this weekend promises to be an unmissable one. On Saturday afternoon there is the women’s singles final of the 2018 French Open – the year’s second tennis Grand Slam – which starts at 15:00 CET and is between Simona Halep of Romania, and the American Sloane Stephens.

Both have experience at the business end of Grand Slams, though just Stephens has won a Major – last season’s US Open. She is ranked 10th in the world rankings, with Halep No1, so it will be fascinating to see whether it will be experience or form that will come out on top; particularly in the pressured atmosphere of a final.

This is Halep’s fourth final having been beaten at Roland Garros in 2014 and 2017, as well as being the runner-up at the Australian Open back in January. Tipbet have plenty of markets to bet on this match, with Halep the slight favourite at 1.40 to claim the title outright.

There will also be extensive markets on the men’s singles on Sunday where Rafael Nadal – a 10-time winner in France – is set to take on Dominic Thiem, with the Austrian looking for his first Major.

To cap off a packed weekend, the Canadian Grand Prix is on Sunday night in Montreal, with Lewis Hamilton looking to edge closer to his fifth Formula 1 world title. The Briton currently enjoys a 14-point gap to Sebastian Vettel, who has also won four titles, and there are head-to-head markets to add extra enjoyment to the race.
