Nottingham Forest host West Bromwich Albion on Tuesday night in the Championship in what is the standout midweek fixture from England’s second tier. Both clubs are contenders to get promotion to the Premier League, and Tipbet’s season bets show that they have the quality to be challenging for the title.  Forest are dark horses at 10.7, and they have not been in the top-flight since 1999, but a 1-1 draw with Bristol City in their season opener, as well as seven new signings, means that Aitor Karanka’s squad should certainly be capable of finishing higher than last year’s 17th.

West Brom are considered slightly more likely at 9.75 having been relegated last season, and they have managed to keep vast experience in the form of Gareth Barry and Chris Brunt, as well as adding Sam Johnstone and keeping hold of Nacer Chadli. They did sell Jonny Evans and Ben Foster, though, but anything other than a top-six finish and play-off place would be considered an underachievement by Darren Moore and his players.

The Baggies lost to Bolton Wanderers on Saturday – conceding the winner late on – which makes tonight’s fixture of added importance, as well as the next four which includes games against Norwich City, Middlesbrough and Stoke City.

Karanka got Middlesbrough promoted in 2016 so will be strongly expected to push his current side towards a strong finishing position – he has also been backed in the transfer market with Joao Carvalho signed from Benfica for over £13m.  Anything but a win for either side, however, would see them fall behind the early pace-setter, which includes Leeds United, Derby County and Swansea City, all of whom won their opening matches.
